The Dawson Country Democratic party worked on Saturday, April 2, 2011 on their adopted section of Georgia 400 picking up trash.  This is part of the Georgia Democratic parties "Georgia Works" program.  We adopted this section of the highway 4 years ago.  Those participating are Back Row:  Tom Are, Jean Are, Bill Rawson, Tom Foley, Donna Scohier, Conrad Scohier, Terry Ryan Front Row:  Linda Ryan, Brian Roberts, Mary Tanner, Fran Bodman, Carolyn Maddux, Spencer Maddux.


This Members of the Dawson County Democratic party attended the 9th District JJ Dinner on Saturday, April 23rd at the Amicolola Lodge.  Michael Berlon, Chair of the Georgia Democratic Party was the guest speaker.  Mr. Berlong praised the 9th district for their enthusiasm and hard work and said he was looking forward to working to help spread the message of Democratic values around the state.  Those from Dawson County who attended are:

We had a great meeting on Thursday night. About 15 people from Forsyth County and Pickens county came in addition to our Dawson County folks to hear Mike Berlon, our new state chair.
Our Scholarship winner, Katie Simmons, read her essay on public education; she did a great job! Thanks to Brian Roberts for heading up that committee.  We had a wonderful barbeque dinner which Linda and Terry Ryan prepared for us. We closed the evening with some fantastic door prizes.

Four members of the Dawson County Democratic Party attended the annual JJ Dinner at the Georgia World Congress center on June 25.  Dale Holland, Bette Holland, Co-Chair, Linda Ryan, and Terry Ryan, 1st vice-chair.
They joined 1,000 others members of the Democratic party, the party of fairness, equality, and security for all Americans,  as they convened in Atlanta on Saturday to celebrate our bright future at our annual Jefferson Jackson Dinner.
The inspiring speeches of Congressman John Lewis, Wisconsin State Senator Lena Taylor, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and New Hampshire Chairman Ray Buckley made this event an outstanding success.
